Multi-Piece Rims: Demounting and Mounting

(18 min.) One of the most powerful forces tire technicians work with is air pressure. Air pressure inside a passenger tire can be very destructive, even at 25 to 30 pounds of pressure. Truck tires inflated to 50, 60, or 75 pounds have an even greater hazard potential. The key element in the safe use and handling of multi-piece rims and wheels is to follow correct procedures. This training program is designed to alert you to the hazards of multi-piece rims and to provide basic guidelines for safely using and servicing these types of wheels.
