Sanitation and Hygiene (10 min.)Everyone needs to take responsibility and action when it comes to maintaining a clean and sanitary food service or preparation area. There are many things you can do which will be outlined in this short program. The information isn't technical; it is common sense and thinking about sanitation everyday. Do your part to keep your work area and equipment clean and sanitary and you'll be doing your part for food safety.

Topics covered in this safety video include: basic information about bacteria and other microorganisms, prevent food from being exposed to possible contamination, cooking food at temperatures above 165 degrees, proper sanitary conditions, store food only in designated areas, chemicals, toxic metal, cleaning and sanitizing, keep all doors closed whenever possible, dispose of all garbage promptly in proper receptacles, electric insect control devices, keep your equipment clean and sanitized, fire prevention systems and ventilation ducts, floor drains, don't wear jewelry at work, never eat in a food service area, and never smoke in a food service area.
