Radiation Safety

(20 min.) This radiation safety program describes procedures, equipment, and work practices that are designed to protect you. Students, staff, and faculty must be protected from the health hazards presented by ionizing radiation sources. Components of a Radiation Safety Plan include the basics of training, engineering controls, personal protective equipment, and ionizing radiation hazards. In addition we will include safe handling of radioactive material, minimizing radioactive contamination, detection of radioactivity, personal protection, decontamination, and reporting.
