Level 1 Inspection

The roadside inspection program consists of roadside inspections performed by qualified safety inspectors who follow the North American Standard guidelines, which were developed by the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance often called the CVSA, in cooperation with the FMCSA. Most roadside inspections conducted by the states are conducted under the Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program, or MCSAP, which is a grant program administered by the FMCSA.

Topics included in the safety video are: the basics, the inspection process, Level 1, North American standard inspection, alcohol and drugs, drivers record of duty status, hours of service, seat belt system, vehicle safety inspection reports, brake systems, coupling devices, exhaust system, frame, fuel system, safe loading, steering mechanism, suspension, tires, wheels and rims, windshields and wipers, and lights are a big deal.

Program comes with a CD-ROM of written materials, including test questions and answers. English title also includes PowerPoint presentation.
