Needlestick Prevention

(13 min.) This program designed for anyone using needles or sharp objects in the performance of their duties, but primarily Healthcare Workers. Due to recent Federal Legislation and accompanying changes to OSHA's Bloodborne Pathogen standards, needlestick injury prevention is a continuing problem in Healthcare. New, safer needles are required, as are other "engineering controls" to help reduce the serious needlestick problem. This program explains the new standards and more importantly. demonstrates new needle design and safer needles that are now commercially available.
